How Qualifications Are Checked
You can trust our strict hiring policies
Dedicated and well-trained employees are the backbone of Home Care Specialist’ services and success. We understand that the most important aspect of in-home care is having a caregiver who is competent and trustworthy. So we put extra effort into screening potential caregivers for those qualities, which is a two-part process.
First, Home Care Specialists only hires caregivers who meet our exacting standards. They have to:
- Verify 1-to-2 years of in-home care experience;
- Provide positive references;
- Communicate with clients in a clear and helpful manner;
- Treat and care for clients and their property with dignity and respect;
- Speak, write and read the English language;
- Speak and interpret competently if hired as a bilingual employee;
- Pass background and medical checks.
In addition, the name of every potential new caregiver is screened through an extensive background check that may include some or all of the following:
- National Criminal Database search;
- Unlimited County Criminal searches;
- Department of Motor Vehicle report;
- U.S. residency check for past 7 years;
- Social Security trace;
- National Sex Offender Registry search;
- National Want and Warrant search;
- Administrative Office of the Courts search;
- Department of Public Safety search;
- Office of Foreign Assets Control list;
- FBI Wanted Terrorist and Fugitive list;
- U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency wanted list.
