LWF Home Care Specialists is a family business – owners Leonard and Jennifer Frie are seen here with Wilson, their Cairn terrier, and we offer personalized care plans for anyone needing in-home assistance: seniors, veterans, those with disabilities or dementia. Our goal is to provide services that help each client maintain maximum independence in his or her own home – to provide the same attentive care we would give our relatives.

Company history

The company was founded in 1994 in Los Gatos, California, and has since expanded into the communities of San Mateo, Modesto and the Sacramento suburb of Rocklin, where the headquarters is now located.

Leonard – who draws from his 30 years of health care experience as owner of dialysis facilities, laboratories and other entities – understands the value of best business practices and has instituted a series of upgrades. In 2006 and again in 2008 the company invested in state-of-the-art technologies to improve efficiencies and enhance communications with clients.

Home Care Specialists has also intensified its employee background check policy to improve its already rigorous hiring practices. Dedicated and well-trained employees are the backbone of our services and our success.

In-home care leader

Home Care Specialists is a leader in developing a credentialing process for California home care companies. We are an active participant and supporter of the California Association for Health Services at Home (CAHSAH) and the National Private Duty Association (NPDA). In fact, we were the first in-home care company certified by CAHSAH.

In 2011 Leonard made the decision to rebrand the company and Geriatric Home Care Specialists officially became LWF Home Care Specialists. Those are his initials, LWF, in the company name. By renaming the company, we hope to be better recognized as a highly skilled home care provider offering specialized services that are not just for senior care.
